Jeffery D. Kennerly is a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management practice located in
Northern Virginia. Drawing on more than a decade of business advisory & audit experience, Jeffery’s
focus at Morgan Stanley is partnering with individuals, families and business owners to be their source
of strategic solutions to solve their financial goals.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Jeffery was a Director with Management Resources, the consulting
practice of Robert Half International, where he oversaw strategic (financial & operational) projects with
companies across New York City and Northern Virginia. He worked directly with corporate leadership to
scope projects, source consultants for execution, provide on-going external project management, and
close-out oversight. Jeffery is uniquely qualified to work with businesses and individuals alike, as he is
able to take his business experiences and apply them to individual financial pain points, using a
systematic – solution based approach, supported by Morgan Stanley’s suite of tools.
Starting his career in public accounting at the “Big 4” public accounting firm, Deloitte, where he focused
on executing and managing financial statement audits for publicly traded and privately held companies.
His industry exposure included, but was not limited to, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Real Estate,
Medical, Higher Education and Not-For-Profits. Jeffery continued his advisory and audit career with a
transition to the University Audit Department at Yale University and subsequently the Global Audit &
Advisory Team at Pitney Bowes, Inc. His experience with those organizations included, managing
international audits in Europe & Canada, performing advisory support for fraud investigations and
strategic organizational restructuring initiatives. In addition to expanding his advisory experience,
Jeffery also founded a tax preparation & advisory business, where he provided such services to
individuals, families and small business owners.
He has held talks for the Urban League of Northern Virginia Young Professionals Network, Sheila C.
Johnson Leadership Institute – Alumni, Yale University’s Employee Affinity Groups, and Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority Incorporated – Xi Zeta Omega Chapter’s – Economic Empowerment Forum.
Jeffery holds two degrees from the University of New Haven, a Bachelor in Accounting (BS) and a
Masters of Business Administration (MBA), where he was recognized on the National Dean’s List
Dignitas and as an All-American Scholar, while providing leadership to the University community
through athletic and non-athletic activities.
Hailing from New Britain, Connecticut, Jeffery now calls Northern Virginia home with his wife Erica, and
their two children, Jordan and Jada. In his down time, he enjoys spending time with his family,
volunteering in the community (providing financial literacy knowledge to underserved communities and
college preparation mentoring to students), traveling, cycling, playing and coaching (youth) basketball,
and continuing to expand his horizons.
